Wasabi

Waterloo, London

Make a mountain out of a molehill - that’s what Wasabi asked of Dover Design when they acquired one of the kiosks next to the London Eye. Wasabi had to create a powerful QSR and take-away business out of this 370sq ft building. The rent is huge for such a tiny footprint, so the challenge was to create an irresistible brand magnet for customers, and then serve them fast.

Dover Design shoe-horned the Wasabi kitchen and all its service requirements into the kiosk. So that customers outside could see the whole of the product offer and service counter, Dover took the side off the building, involving some neat structural work - and as a result, Wasabi’s fast-moving queue steps straight up to the counter at one end of the kiosk, and step out at the other. It’s doing the business.

In this high-profile location, the kiosk’s appearance is of special interest to the Council, with their conservative Town Planning restrictions on signage in this Conservation Area Dover’s solution was to make the entire kiosk work as a Wasabi brand sign, creating a brilliant beacon on the plaza.
