Zizzi
Bankside, London
Overlooking the Thames at Bankside, Zizzi took this challenging first floor location with its very low headroom, limited signage opportunities and strong competition from ground floor operators EAT and The Real Greek.
Dramatic entrance signage and entrance foyer with rustic table supporting Zizzi’s trademark birch trees, reflected in the mirror mosaic wall cladding
Upstairs, Dover Design took inspiration from the riverside location, using themes of water in the rippling waves of the timber ceiling fins, and the bright polished pebbles mosaic covering the oven. Floors are in weathered timber decking. In this intimate space you feel almost inside the kitchen with its immaculate white tiling, sparkling oven and marble counters. But there is a sense of width made by the broad but low windows giving fine views over Bankside and the river.
