Zizzi
Romford
The brief, as always with the Zizzi brand, was to incorporate the best of the history of the locality including famous Romford Greyhound track, the local brewery and the abundance of street art in the locale.
A vast space with very prominent architectural features in the form of large pre-cast concrete ‘V’ shaped structural supports had to be transformed into a viable restaurant on a strictly limited budget.
A low cost approach was taken with the use of suspended industrial cable echoing the shape of the Greyhound track also highlighted in the dining chairs upholstered in racing ‘colours’.
The Brewery theme was reflected in the keg-stacked wall and the circular motif continues in the log and bar back displays. Dramatic lighting and street graphics on the restaurant walls and shopfront complete the striking interior.
